A more informed patient is a more confident patient. Infertility is challenging to discuss but we want to alleviate a couple’s concerns by answering any and all questions they have.

Shady Grove Fertility (SGF) equips their current and prospective patients with frequent free, online and in person events to build on their foundation of education and awareness. Throughout the month of August, the practice will host eight in-person seminars and three virtual webinars on topics ranging from what to expect when you’re not expecting, egg freezing, in vitro fertilization (IVF), what your menstrual cycle says about your fertility, and more. Each event concludes with a question and answer session so that attendees have the opportunity to get their questions answered by the practice’s physician experts.
Many couples who are beginning to wonder if it’s time to see a fertility specialist will benefit from the seminar, “What to Expect When You’re Not Expecting.” During the live event, attendees will learn what red flags signal it’s time to see a specialist, what an initial consult with a reproductive endocrinologist looks like, how fertility is diagnosed often through four simple tests, and what treatment options are available.
“A more informed patient is a more confident patient. Infertility is challenging to discuss but we want to alleviate a couple’s concerns by answering any and all questions they have,” says Sandy Li, M.D., of SGF’s Rockville and K Street offices and who will be hosting an event on August 6. “No matter what stage of their fertility journey patients are in, we’re here to help explain what to expect, guide, and counsel along the way,” adds Li.
SGF offers many options to overcome infertility, from non-invasive to highly advanced. Since every couple’s diagnosis is different, SGF tailors their approach for each patient. “While IVF is a common and effective course of action, it isn’t always necessary. With IVF, our physicians often use a customized predictive analytics model, called PRISM, created using thousands of data points from former SGF patients to determine pregnancy probability. We’re transparent with you throughout your treatment and believe that straightforward transparency and trust will give you confidence and clarity moving forward,” says Brad Swelstad, M.D., of SGF’s Woodbridge and Fair Oaks, VA offices and who will be hosting the free event on August 15.
While all SGF in-person and online events are complimentary, interested parties must register to attend by visiting the SGF calendar of events.
